New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party leader Rahul Gandhi paid heartfelt tributes to the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on the 59th anniversary of his passing. Alongside party treasurer Pawan Bansal and others, Kharge and Rahul Gandhi laid floral tributes at the Shanti Van memorial. In a Twitter tribute, Kharge shared one of Nehru's quotes: "You don't change the course of history by turning the faces of portraits to the wall." Reflecting on Nehru's contributions, the Congress president emphasized that the India of the 21st century owes much to the visionary leader. Nehru's fearless defense of democracy and progressive ideas were instrumental in India's social, political, and economic development. Kharge concluded by paying his respects to the "Jawahar of Hind."
