Bengaluru: A devastating incident unfolded on Sunday evening as a software engineer from Andhra Pradesh lost her life when the car she was traveling in, along with her family of six, became stranded in stormwater at an underpass near KR Circle in Bengaluru. The victim, identified as Bhanurekha, hailed from Vijayawada and was employed at a software company in Bengaluru. While trapped in the car at the underpass, police personnel, assisted by locals, managed to rescue five members of Bhanurekha's family and the driver. However, Bhanurekha and another woman were rushed to a corporate hospital for immediate medical attention. Tragically, Bhanurekha succumbed to her injuries during the course of treatment. The family had travelled to Bengaluru from Hyderabad to explore the city. The violent thunderstorm, accompanied by strong gales, wreaked havoc in the city for approximately an hour due to a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea. The severe weather uprooted trees and resulted in significant damage to vehicles. Karnataka
