A government minister in Uganda was reportedly killed in a private dispute by his bodyguard on Tuesday. The assailant, who remains unidentified, later took his own life. According to the state broadcaster UBC and other sources, Charles Engola, a retired army colonel and the junior minister of labor under President Yoweri Museveni, was shot in his home located in a Kampala suburb. The police are now investigating the incident. Reports suggest that the shooting may have resulted from an argument over the bodyguard's salary, as witnesses claimed the attacker had not been paid despite serving as a minister's guard. Brigadier Felix Kulayigye, an army spokesman, expressed regret over the incident and promised to reveal more details once the matter had been investigated.
