Former MLA Dhulipalla Narendra led TDP cadres in a protest against the YSRCP government's alleged involvement in a housing scheme scam in Guntur district's Ponnuru. The protesters raised slogans in front of the municipal office, claiming that the government had removed the plaques of houses that were supposed to be constructed with Rs 2.5 lakh funding provided in 2018-19, and foundation stones had already been laid. Dhulipalla expressed his dissatisfaction with the establishment of a new Shivapalakam, which received Rs 3.5 lakh for housing construction. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the commissioner, demanding a detailed inquiry into the allocation of Rs 1 lakh to the beneficiaries.
