On Friday, during the inauguration of the Sankara Eye hospital, the IT minister, KT Rama Rao, also known as KTR, declared that the state would exempt the Sankara Eye Foundation's vehicles from life tax and transportation charges. These vehicles are intended for the benefit of the underprivileged. KTR commended the foundation's aim of performing 30,000 surgeries annually, free of charge. Additionally, he praised the foundation's initiative of providing free transportation to bring individuals from rural areas to the Narsingi hospital. During his speech at the hospital's inauguration, KTR invited the Sankara Foundation to collaborate with the state in implementing the Kanti Velugu program, which has already conducted over one crore eye examinations. KTR highlighted that the chief minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, prioritizes health and revealed that the state is establishing 33 medical and nursing colleges in all districts of the state.
