BJP leader Raja Singh, who is also the MLA for Goshamahal, was detained by the police on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, even before the rally began. Raja Singh, however, questioned the authorities as to why he was being held, stating that it is a Hindu festival and he cannot miss participating in an event that is taking place in his own constituency, especially on his birthday, which he shares with the Hindu god Hanuman. The police officer who was speaking with Singh, wished him a happy birthday and shook hands with him. Following his detention, Singh released a video message, saying that he has no involvement in any vandalism carried out by Lord Anjaneya devotees during the bike rally held in his constituency every year on Hanuman Jayanti.
