An unidentified disease has claimed three lives in Burundi's northeastern region, West Africa, with symptoms including acute abdominal pain, high fever, vomiting, dizziness, and nasal bleeding that worsens after death, according to on-site observers. The disease is suspected to be a virus causing some form of viral haemorrhagic fever, although the health minister has ruled out Ebola and Marburg. Governor and provincial physician in Kirundo are waiting for the results of samples collected by experts from the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) to confirm the exact nature of the disease. Meanwhile, health officials are closely monitoring the situation and taking steps to contain the spread of the disease. The symptoms exhibited by infected individuals are reportedly severe, and the rapid deaths of the three people underscore the urgency of identifying and containing the virus
