Case Against Actor Taapsee Pannu For "Hurting" Religious Sentiments

On Monday, a complaint was filed against actress Taapsee Pannu in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, by Eklavya Gaur, the son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur. According to the complaint, Pannu allegedly hurt religious sentiments during a ramp walk at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai on March 12. Gaur accused Pannu of wearing a revealing outfit and a necklace featuring an image of Goddess Laxmi during the ramp walk, which was considered offensive.

Kapil Sharma, SHO of Chhatri Pura Police Station, confirmed that they had received a complaint from Eklavya Gaur regarding the matter. The complaint alleged that Pannu's outfit and accessory depicted disrespect towards the 'Sanatan Dharma' religion. The police are taking necessary action in this regard.

It is not the first time that a celebrity has faced backlash for hurting religious sentiments in India.
