Mahabubabad: The YSRTP chief YS Sharmila has addressed the protests by the Hijra community, who are demanding an apology from her for comments made during her Mahabubabad padayatra where she criticized MLA Shankar Naik. Speaking to the media, YS Sharmila clarified that her comments were not directed at the Hijra community personally and that she was responding to offensive comments made against her who termed her as Shikandi. In Warangal, members of the Hijra community have staged a protest calling for a public apology from YS Sharmila for her inappropriate remarks during the padayatra. The protestors raised slogans against her and burned her pictures.
