Balakrishna has been involved in Tarakaratna's treatment since the beginning, arranging for his transfer from Kuppam Hospital to Hrudayalaya Hospital and taking responsibility for all necessary arrangements. Balakrishna has launched an "akhanda deepam" campaign to help improve Tarakaratna's health, and the goal is to light the akhanda jyothi for 44 days at the Mrityunjayaswamy Temple in Battalapuram in Chowdepalli mandal of Chittoor district. In light of Tarakaratna's condition, Balakrishna has postponed the second schedule of his upcoming film, NBK 108, which was originally planned for the first week of February. Balakrishna has cited his son's poor mental condition as the reason for the delay
