AIMIM to contest in 50 seats in upcoming Telangana elections: Owaisi
Akbaruddin Owaisi, the AIMIM floor leader in Hyderabad, announced on Saturday that his party will contest in up to 50 seats in the upcoming elections in Telangana. During a heated debate in the state assembly, Owaisi stated that he would discuss with the party president to field more candidates and aim to increase the number of legislators from 7 to 15.
The ruling BRS government and AIMIM engaged in a debate over the passing of the motion of thanks for Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan's address. When Owaisi requested more time for MIM legislators to discuss people's issues, Minister KT Rama Rao responded by pointing out that the party has only 7 MLAs and questioning the need for more time.
