Supreme Court to hear AP's three capitals issue today

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is set to take up the hearing on the controversial issue of the three capitals in Andhra Pradesh (AP) today. It is known that the AP High Court has ruled to develop Amaravati as the capital, but the state government has challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court, arguing that it is not possible to implement the verdict.

Additionally, a petition has been filed by Mastan Wali from the Prakasam district, seeking the implementation of the Sivaramakrishna Committee's recommendations for development across all areas instead of just one place.

Both petitions will be heard together, with senior advocates KK Venugopal and Shyam Diwan representing the AP government and the petitioner. The Supreme Court has already stayed the High Court's order to develop Amaravati within six months, generating anticipation for the Supreme Court's decision on the issue.
