Prakasam: Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, the son-in-law of the late leader and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, announced on Sankranthi that he and his son will be stepping away from politics. He stated that he is dissatisfied with the current political climate which revolves around money instead of doing services. He added his family keeps themselves away from revenge politics. He also mentioned that Purandheswari will continue to be politically active. He made this announcement during the NTR centenary celebrations held in Inkollu of Prakasam district. He was a TDP MLA for three consecutive terms, served as a minister and was an MP. After a crisis within TDP, Daggubati joined the BJP and later moved to Congress from 2004 to 2014, winning twice from Parchur.
