Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to Director General of Police KV Rajendranath Reddy and demanded to release the TDP activists who were arrested illegally in Kuppam, Macherla, Punganur and other areas in the city. He mentioned in the letter that the police conducted a lathi charge over TDP activists and later filed cases against them. He further mentioned in the letter that the police are misusing section 307 of the IPC, violating the Supreme Court's directives. He further mentioned that the police are acting as complainants and registering false FIRs against the DTP activists under Section 307. Naidu mentioned that the police must be in uniform while making arrests and should inform the family members or local heads about the arrests. He alleged that no police followed the guidelines.
