On Wednesday, a stampede at a public event for Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu at Kandukuru in the Andhra Pradeshi's Nellore district resulted in seven fatalities and several injuries. The injured people and the bodies were taken to a hospital. As soon as he learned the news, Chandrababu Naidu went to the area hospital to visit the injured and comforted their families. He declared that the TDP would offer the bereaved families Rs. 10 lakh each. Nara Lokesh, the general secretary of the TDP, also expressed his regret over the event and wished the injured people a speedy recovery.
