A horrifying video from China depicts a parking lot that has been turned into a makeshift location in Chongqing city for those who have the Covid virus, and it is filled to the brim with dead bodies, displaying the dire situation in China at the moment. When AFP visited No 5 People's Hospital in Chongqing on December 23, the main entry lobby had been transformed into a temporary Covid ward. About a dozen beds, mostly occupied by elderly people receiving IV drips, were blocked off in the spacious atrium. When there was a zero covid policy, the cases were under control for three years. Following the lifting of the zero covid policy, there was an abrupt increase in covid instances that resulted in concerning fatalities.
