World's largest Cargo Airplane Airbus Beluga lands at Hyderabad Airport
One of the biggest cargo aircraft in the world, the Airbus Beluga, landed Friday night at Hyderabad International Airport. It was a whale-shaped aircraft, and the special preparations have been made for takeoff, parking, and landing. According to the airport's operator, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, the Airbus would stay at the airport till 7:20 p.m. today.
Heavy aviation freight can be carried by the Airbus Beluga. The Hyderabad airport was chosen for Airbus landing based on the airport's technical and infrastructure limitations.
It is important to note that in May 2016, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in India hosted the inaugural landing of the largest cargo aeroplane in the world, known as the Antonov An-225.
