Hyderabad Metro turns 5 years; First Underground Metro coming up in Hyderabad, says NVS Reddy
On November 29, 2017, the inaugural Metro train service began from Miyapur, marking the conclusion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited's (HMRL) five-year period of operation. Currently, the Metro is used daily by more than four lakh commuters.
At the Ameerpet Metro Station, the HMRL organised celebrations to mark five years of successfully completing its services.
In Hyderabad Metro, an underground metro will be introduced. N.V.S, MD of Metro Rail, said. He said that on the inaugural day of the metro rail, two lakh people travelled. He estimated that 4,40,000 people currently use the metro. On December 9, according to NVS Reddy, Chief Minister KCR will lay the foundation for the second phase of the metro, which will stretch 31 kilometres from Rayadurgam to Shamshabad airport.
