At Rajahmundry, a huge gathering of pilgrims performed rituals and took a holy bath in the Godavari River on Monday. Devotees swarm the ghats in Rajahmundry beginning early in the morning. All significant ghats where a large number of pilgrims are taking a holy plunge are kept clean by the authorities. To prevent bothering the devotees, temporary dressing rooms are also kept at the ghats, and temporary restrooms have been set up a few metres away from the ghats. To prevent unexpected situations, police are keeping a careful eye on the ghats. To protect the pilgrims, the fire personnel are keeping a watchful eye on the ghats while armed with lifebuoys, life jackets, and speed boats. Devotees are doing rituals and visiting the ghats in large numbers in Kovvur and Naraspuram in both East Godavari and West Godavari.
