Rahul Gandhi, a senior member of the Congress, stated that the party will offer assistance to farmers in Amaravati who had offered their lands to the state for capital development. He responded to the debate over Andhra Pradesh's three capitals in a media interview while on the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kurnool and said that the decision to have three capitals was incorrect. The senior Congress leader said that Amaravati serving as Andhra Pradesh's capital would be preferable. He asserted that the Polavaram project, AP Special Category Status and other State bifurcation pledges must be fulfilled by the Central government.
