The arrest of Jana Sena leaders and sympathisers was denounced by N. Chandrababu Naidu, national president of the Telugu Desam Party. The former chief minister referred to this as undemocratic and demanded that these leaders be released. He has claimed that it is undemocratic for the present government to intend to stop the 'Jana Vani' programme launched by the Jana Sena. In a tweet, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the police searches in a hotel in Visakhapatnam where Jana Sena Party chief and star Pawan Kalyan was staying were particularly reprehensible. He has also criticised the present government, claiming that it targets opposition leaders with fabricated cases.
