The removal of NTR's name from the health university is still being opposed. Telugu Desam members poured milk to the statue of NTR in Puttaparthi, Satyasai district. Palle Raghunath Reddy, a former minister, demanded that the name of NTR University be restored to Health University right away. The TDP leaders in Vizianagaram expressed their outrage, claiming that the YSR Congress government had disrespected the late NTR, who brought the fame of the Telugu people to the globe. Fans of Junior NTR chanted anti-government slogans at Kurnool Collectorate in protest of the purported government decision to change the name. Near the High Court, lawyers protested in favour of restoring the late NTR's name.
