Regarding claims that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had been appointed as its permanent president, the Election Commission has addressed a notice to the YSR Congress Party, which is currently in power in Andhra Pradesh. According to the EC, the YSRCP has received at least five notices since July 19, 2022, and the party's delay response lends credence to the claim. The Commission declared that it vehemently opposes any effort—not even the slightest suggestion—to make any organisational position permanent. It said that such a measure is intrinsically anti-democratic. In order to put the possibility of such confusion to rest, the Commission has now instructed the YSR Congress Party to direct the internal investigation be concluded as soon as possible and issue a clear and unequivocal public proclamation denying the stated media claims.
