The CBI court in Hyderabad arrested former MP Kothapalli Geetha to five years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh. Her husband Ramakoteswara Rao received the same punishment. KK Aravindakshan and Jayaprakash, two bank employees, were also given five years in prison. According to sources, the Geetha couple borrowed Rs 52 crore from the Punjab National Bank under the name Visvesvara Infrastructure and did not pay it back. In this case, the CBI released a charge sheet in 2015. Reportedly, the couple were sent to Osmania Hospital for medical check up. Kothapally Geetha, on the other hand, submitted a bail petition to the Telangana High Court. The bail petition is anticipated to be heard by the High Court soon.
