The election schedule for a prominent and important position of its President has been released by the Congress Working Committee (CWC), which met today (August 28). After numerous prominent Congress leaders left the party, the key meeting became necessary. The election for party president will take place on October 17 according to CWC, the highest decision-making body of the party. The deadline for submitting nominations has been set for September 31 and will begin on September 24. According to CWC, the nominations will be examined by October 1 and candidates would have until October 7 to withdraw their names from consideration.
