Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao(KCR) in his Munugode Public meeting speech on August 20 has asked people to cast their votes for Munugode by-polls before putting a namaskar to gas cylinder at home. He strongly criticised the Central government for boosting gas cylinder prices. Gas cylinder costs will only decrease, according to CM KCR, if voters oppose the BJP and help them lose the election. In response to the accusations, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated in his speech at the Munugode Public Meeting on August 21 that although the fuel prices had been reduced twice at the Central level, the Telangana administration had not reduced the value-added tax, resulting in the state's fuel prices being the highest in the nation.
