Krishnastami is a well-known Hindu festival. In Hindu tradition, Janmashtami marks the day when Krishna is said to have been born. People observe a complete day of fasting on Janmashtami, chant devotional songs in honour of Lord Krishna, and maintain vigil through the night because Lord Krishna was born in the middle of the night. People think that praying to Lord Krishna on this day will be prosperous. Upasana, the daughter-in-law of megastar Chiranjeevi, prayed to Lord Krishna at her residence.
