The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) has started the bye-election planning process shortly after incumbent MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy's resignation was accepted. According to reports, the TRS party has completed the process of choosing its candidate. Several meetings with party cadres in the Yadadri-Bhongir district, particularly in the Munugode Assembly constituency, were held, according to highly placed TRS sources, during which the party president and chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao finalised the name of the former MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy. According to reports, CM KCR will name Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy during the public gathering tomorrow in Munugode. In the 2018 Assembly elections, Prabhakar Reddy, who served as the Munugode constituency's representative in the State Assembly, was defeated by incumbent MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy by a margin of 22,500 votes.
