Heavy police force deployed in Konaseema
Amalapuram: Heavy police force was deployed in Amalapuram after the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved the name change of Konaseema to Ambedkar Konaseema. According to the reports, to prevent the violence, the police raised high alert in the departments and Section 144 was in force. Police said that no permission gave for meetings and rallies.
Home Minister Taneti Vanitha expressed happiness over the name change and said that the government changed the name after peoples' requests only. She said that a heavy police force was deployed in the state. Earlier, violence erupted in the district after protestors set fire to Minister Vishwaroop's residence.
