On Thursday, the Telangana High Court served notices on K Chandrashekar Rao, the state's chief minister and president of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, as well as the party's general secretary M Srinivas Reddy, chief secretary Somesh Kumar, and other officials in response to a public-interest petition that contested the TRS's acquisition of public land for the purpose of building a party office. K Maheshwar Raj, a retired employee, filed a suit challenging the allocation of a 4,935 square yard property in Hyderabad's opulent Banjara Hills neighbourhood at a price of Rs 100 per square yard for the purpose of establishing a district office for the ruling party. On May 11, the chief secretary of the government issued an order allotting the land. The respondents were given four weeks by the court to submit their responses.
