Everest, the world's highest peak, is draped in a tricolour flag. Vikrant Uniyal, Wing Commander of the Indian Air Force, scaled Mount Everest. Following that, the national flag was raised. Wing Commander Uniyal has also sung the National Anthem at an altitude of 8849 metres, when it is difficult to even breathe. The Wing Commander completed the mission on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on May 21, stated the Defense Ministry's PRO. Vikrant Uniyal has dedicated his achievement to all the unsung warriors and movements that helped India's freedom struggle. The arduous expedition began on April 15 in Kathmandu, Nepal, with team members from all across the world.
