25 more arrested in Amalapuram, no internet for next 24 hours

Konaseema, May 29: The police arrested 25 more in connection with violence erupted in Amalapuram after state government issued a GO renaming Konaseema district into Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district. So far, the cops arrested 69 persons. On Sunday, some more likely to be arrested.
After reviewing law and order in the town, Eluru Range DIG Pala Raju said that additional forces will be stationed for one more week in Amalapuram. He also imposed ban on internet services for the next 24 hours. He further stated that compensation to victims, whose properties were torched, will be recovered from the accused by selling their assets.
