On Monday, Cyclone Asani strengthened into a strong cyclone over the southeast portions of the Bay of Bengal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm will approach the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coast by Tuesday. It is unlikely to reach landfall, although it may pass by these states' coastal areas in the next two days. According to the IMD, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast in various areas of Andhra Pradesh's north coastal districts on May 10th and 11th. Andhra Pradesh has already felt the effects of the Asani cyclone. Rainfall occurs in Narsipatnam, Machilipatnam, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Konaseema, and Vijayawada. Rain is still falling in Anantapur and Kadapa districts.
