The storm originated in the Bay of Bengal and was heading northwest at a speed of 16 kilometres per hour. On Tuesday, the IMD predicts light to moderate rains in areas of Odisha, Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. IMD predicts that it would proceed parallel to the coast in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh rather than crossing it. Odisha's Gajapati, Ganjam, and Puri districts have been given a alert due to the cyclone. On Wednesday, the IMD predicts heavy rainfall in five districts of Odisha.
