Using mobile phones for personal use during work hours in government services is not a good practise, according to a Madurai High Court panel hearing a plea by a health department officer challenging her suspension. The Madras High Court's Madurai Bench ruled that government employees should not be permitted to use their mobile phones for personal purposes during business hours. The Madras High Court further ordered the State Government to draught regulations and submit a report within four weeks. It has also sought to take action against errant government personnel.
