Following their crucial five-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings on Friday, the players have taken a brief break to recuperate.

Sunrisers Hyderabad shared the update via their social media platforms, posting a 35-second video capturing the players enjoying their time in the Maldives. With several days remaining before their next match, the team management believes that this vacation will help the players recharge ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

The win against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai was a significant one for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Not only did it keep their playoff ambitions alive, but it also marked the end of a losing streak against Chennai at the Chepauk venue. As of now, Sunrisers Hyderabad hold the eighth position on the points table with three wins from nine matches.

Under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, the team now faces a challenging scenario—winning all of their remaining five matches is essential to secure a place in the playoffs. Any single defeat could jeopardize their qualification chances. The team’s next match is scheduled for May 2 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Commenting on the win over Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Daniel Vettori stated that the team’s revised batting strategy proved effective. He noted that the inclusion of Kamindu Mendis and the adjustments in the batting order contributed to their successful chase. “Bringing Kamindu into the side, sending Heinrich Klaasen earlier, and pushing Nitish Kumar Reddy down the order helped us achieve better balance, particularly while chasing,” Vettori explained.
