AP Minister Nara Lokesh Reacts to Viral Video of Headmaster’s Disciplinary Method
A video of a headmaster from Pentha Zilla Parishad High School in Bobbili Mandal, Vizianagaram district, disciplining students by having them do sit-ups has gone viral on social media. The headmaster, Chinta Ramana, reportedly took this step due to students' poor academic performance and lack of attentiveness in class.
Responding to the incident, Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Education, Nara Lokesh, addressed the issue on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). He stated that if everyone worked together and provided encouragement, students from government schools could achieve remarkable success. He also praised the headmaster’s approach, emphasizing that self-discipline measures that help students understand their responsibilities without corporal punishment were commendable.
"Headmaster Chinta Ramana from Pentha ZP High School brought to my attention through social media that students were underperforming academically and not listening in class. Sir, if we all work together and encourage them, our government school students can achieve extraordinary results. Your self-discipline initiative, which avoids physical punishment and instead focuses on understanding, is commendable. Congratulations! Let’s collectively improve education standards. Let’s strive for students' academic, physical, and mental growth, paving the way for their bright future," Nara Lokesh tweeted.
Along with his statement, the minister also shared the viral video of the headmaster making students do sit-ups as a disciplinary measure.
