Vijay Deverakonda to Star in a British-Era Historical Drama

Actor Vijay Deverakonda is set to star in a film based on a story from the British era. Having recently worked on family dramas, love stories, and sports-based narratives, Deverakonda has been seeking a significant commercial success since his hit film Geetha Govindam. To break away from regular narratives, the actor is now choosing unique and diverse scripts.

Currently, Vijay Deverakonda is collaborating with Jersey fame director Gowtam Tinnanuri on a film slated for release this summer. Additionally, he has agreed to work on a project directed by Taxiwaala fame Rahul Sankrityan, which is expected to begin shooting soon.

This upcoming project is described as a period action drama set during the British era, specifically between 1854 and 1878. It is based on real historical events from the 19th century. The film's production team has revealed that it will explore aspects that have not been portrayed in previous films set in a similar backdrop.

A special set is being constructed for the movie, with the set work officially launched on Republic Day, Sunday. The film is being produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar. It is currently being developed under the working title VD 14.
