Next Steps Crucial for Steel Plant Growth, Says Former JD Lakshminarayana
Former CBI Joint Director and Jai Bharat National Party president V.V. Lakshminarayana welcomed the announcement of a ₹11,440 crore stimulus package for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by the central government. Expressing gratitude, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Steel Minister Kumaraswamy, and Union Minister of State for Steel Srinivas Varma for the support extended to the steel plant.
Lakshminarayana also lauded the efforts of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in safeguarding the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
He stated, “Funds have been allocated to the steel plant. Now, the management, executives, and workers of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant) must seize this opportunity to ensure the growth of the industry. With professional commitment, the steel industry should operate at its full capacity and potential.”
For long-term sustainability, Lakshminarayana suggested that either merging the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) or granting it exclusive mines would yield the best results for the industry.
