Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Holds a Special Place in Andhra Pradesh's Heart: Modi

The Central Government has put an end to speculations about the privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant by announcing a significant package of ₹11,440 crore. Leaders from various political coalitions have expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government for this decision. Responding to this development, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

In his remarks following the recent Union Cabinet meeting, Modi revealed that a support package exceeding ₹10,000 crore has been approved for the steel plant. He further elaborated that this initiative is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing self-reliance in India ("Atmanirbhar Bharat"). Recognizing the critical role of the steel sector in achieving this vision, the government decided to back the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant with substantial investment.
