Paytm responsible for stampede not HCA: Mohammad Azharuddin

Hyderabad, September 23: Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Mohammad Azharuddin on Friday clarified that the HCA entrusted responsibility of selling tickets to the Paytm. “HCA is no way connected to sale of tickets for third T20 match between India and Australia to be played at Uppal Cricket Stadium on September 25,” he mentioned.

Talking to reporters, Azharuddin stated that the HCA’s role doesn’t arise in ticket sales when the contract was given to Paytm. He denied the allegation of HCA blocked tickets and sold them in black. Some are involved in spreading baseless rumours against the HCA, he said.

Azharuddin warned to file a complaint on Paytm if Telangana police registers FIR against the HCA. “It is the responsibility of police to ensure no stampede take place during sale of tickets at counters,” he mentioned and assured that the HCA would bear medical expenses of those who have injured in stampede.
