Hyd: Marredpally CI arrested for r*ping woman, threatening husband

Hyderabad, July 9: Vanasthalipuram police on Saturday arrested Marredpally CI Nageswara Rao on the charges of raping a married woman at BN Reddy Nagar in Hasthinapuram locality on July 6. He committed crime in the absence of victim’s husband. When her husband returned home, the CI injured him with revolver on his head. Later, he threatened the couple and kidnapped them in a car. However, the couple managed to escape when car broke down near Ibrahimpatnam lake and lodged a complaint with Vanasthalipuram police.
 
The police registered a case under various sections for rape, kidnap, and threatening with weapon. According to reports, the CI knows couple as victim’s husband is working as subordinate to him. 
 
Recently, Hyderabad Police Commissioner transferred Nageswara Rao from Jubilee Hills police station to Marredpally. He reportedly played a key role in investigation of Pudding & Mink pub case. The CI will be sent to remand after producing him before a magistrate.
