Mangalagiri: TDP erects tent on the same spot where Anna Canteen demolished
Guntur, June 10: The TDP activists on Friday erected a tent on the same spot where civic authorities demolished Anna Canteen near NTR statue citing no permission. The party workers said that they wanted to distribute food to the poor on the occasion of Hindupur MLA and Tollywood actor N. Balakrishna’s 62nd birthday.
Meanwhile, DSP Rambabu said that the police will not interfere if they conduct Annadanam with prior approval of the municipal authorities. “If not, police have to ensure law and order in the town,” he mentioned.
According to reports, the cops stopped the TDP leaders and workers of other villages and towns from entering Mangalagiri. They placed them under house arrest.
The TDP cadre asked the YSRCP government as to why the TDP is being stopped from organising Annadanam when YSRCP leaders were allowed to conduct Annadanam in previous TDP rule. A tense situation prevailed some time as the Chandrababu’s party workers raised slogans against the ruling Jagan government.
