KTR assures to meet, extend support to Ashrin, wife of Dalit man murdered in Hyd
Hyderabad, May 9: Responding to a tweet posted by Meera Sanghamitra, Minister for IT, Industries and Municipal Administration K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) assured to meet Ashrin Sultana, whose husband, a Hindu Dalit, was attacked and murdered by her brother Mobin and his friend Masood with an iron rod and a knife at Saroornagar in Hyderabad on May 6 while both were travelling on their scooty, and extend support to her.
The murder which took place on the road in front of hundreds of commuters had caught the attention of nation. Meera informed KTR Ashrin fought bravely to save her husband Nagaraju few days back. “This would be an important moral support to all inter-faith, inter-caste couples,” she tweeted. In response, KTR said, “Will surely meet her and ensure all needed support is provided.” Ashrin and Nagaraju got married at an Arya Samaj Mandir here in January this year. Her brother was dead against their marriage.
