Order probe into assault on MLA Talari Venkat Rao: Home Minister Vanitha

Vijayawada, April 30: Home Minister Taneti Vanitha on Saturday said that she directed the police to submit a full report over the assault on Gopalapuram MLA Talari Venkat Rao. Followers of G. Kothapalli village president Ganji Prasad, who was hacked to death by his rivals today morning, were reportedly angry with MLA for extending support to opponent of their leader.
 
The HM informed the media that she alerted Eluru SP at 7 am after knowing about the murder. To a question, Vanitha said that law and order in the village is under control and stated that she will respond after getting full details about the incident.
 
Vanitha further said that adequate police security provided to the MLA. “The police officials are probing the reasons for the attack on MLA by followers of deceased,” she added. The HM also responded to questions on girl’s murder in Vizianagaram district and awareness on Disha app.
