Amaravati set to host Quantum Valley with India’s first 133-qubit quantum computer
Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh, will lay the foundation stone for the Quantum Valley at Uddandarayunipalem village in Thullur mandal of the Amaravati capital region on Wednesday.

According to the schedule, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will arrive at Uddandarayunipalem at 3:00 pm, participate in the foundation-laying ceremony, and later address a public meeting at the venue.

The Quantum Valley being developed in Amaravati is being positioned as a major milestone for advanced technology in India. Leading companies such as IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, and Larsen & Toubro are playing a key role in bringing India’s first 133-qubit quantum computer to Amaravati. The proposed facility is intended to function as a hub for research, innovation, manufacturing, and skill development in sectors including quantum computing, quantum communications, quantum sensors, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, defence, healthcare, and finance.

The establishment of the Quantum Valley is expected to attract world-class research institutions, investments from global technology companies, expansion of the startup ecosystem, large-scale skill training opportunities for youth, and significant employment generation.

Quantum technology is expected to bring transformative changes to everyday life. It is projected to accelerate pharmaceutical research, improve disease diagnosis, enhance the accuracy of weather forecasting, water usage, and agricultural yield estimation, and strengthen the security of banking and digital transactions.

The state government has announced plans to complete the Quantum Valley complex by August and install the quantum computer by December. Drawing a comparison with the role of Silicon Valley in the global information technology revolution, the Amaravati Quantum Valley is envisioned to stand on par with global quantum centres such as Boston, Singapore, and Shanghai.
