Telugu Cinema Unites Against Betting App Endorsements: Dil Raju
Telugu cinema producer Dil Raju announced that the industry has unanimously decided not to endorse or promote any betting applications in the future. He stated that the move came after links between piracy networks and betting apps were identified.

Dil Raju made this announcement while participating in an event in Hyderabad organized under the leadership of Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, aimed at addressing piracy. Speaking at the event, he said, “The preliminary investigation into piracy activities has revealed some significant findings. We have identified the involvement of betting applications behind piracy. Therefore, we have decided that no one from our industry will promote betting apps anymore.” He expressed hope that this decision would benefit both the film industry and the government.

Expressing concern, Dil Raju said that piracy is causing severe losses to government revenues. “The film industry contributes 18 percent GST to the government. But due to piracy, there is a massive dent in this revenue. As piracy increases, crimes also rise,” he stated.

He further noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has set a goal of developing Hyderabad into a major film hub, but piracy has emerged as a major obstacle to achieving that vision. Dil Raju praised the efforts of Hyderabad Police in combating piracy and assured full support from the film industry in this fight.
