IPL 2025: Kuldeep Yadav Furious Over DRS Call During Gujarat Titans Match
Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav lost his cool during a match against Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The incident took place when a wicket he expected to claim with the very first ball of his over was denied due to the on-field umpire’s decision. Frustrated on the field, Kuldeep Yadav expressed visible anger. Gujarat batter Sai Sudharsan capitalized on the moment, scoring an unbeaten century that led his team to a commanding 10-wicket victory.
The incident occurred at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, during the eighth over of the Gujarat Titans' innings. Kuldeep Yadav came on to bowl and believed he had trapped Gujarat opener Sai Sudharsan leg-before-wicket with his first delivery. However, on-field umpire Kelkar ruled the appeal as not out. Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel immediately opted for the Decision Review System (DRS). Upon review, the impact of the ball was judged as “umpire’s call,” and the third umpire upheld the on-field decision.
Kuldeep Yadav was visibly furious upon seeing the decision replayed on the big screen. His face turned red with anger, and he entered into an argument with umpire Kelkar. Teammates and captain Axar Patel had to intervene to calm him down.
