What Pakistan Said About Prime Minister Modi’s Speech...!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Monday, in which he highlighted the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ by Indian armed forces against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, has reignited a war of words between the two neighbouring countries. In response, the Government of Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned Modi’s remarks, labelling them as “provocative and controversial.” However, Pakistan clarified that it remains committed to the ceasefire agreement.
In his national address on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian armed forces for the successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’. He stated that key terrorist hideouts were destroyed in the operation, dozens of terrorists were killed, and among the deceased were individuals considered to be “high-value” targets. Modi warned that India's retaliatory actions against Pakistan had only been paused, not concluded. He also reminded that it was Islamabad that initially sought the ceasefire agreement. “Terrorism and dialogue cannot go hand in hand. Terrorism and trade cannot run simultaneously. Water and blood cannot flow together,” Modi emphasized.
Reacting to these statements, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong response. “Pakistan rejects the provocative and controversial remarks made by the Indian Prime Minister,” it told Reuters news agency. The ministry added, “Pakistan remains committed to the recent ceasefire agreement. We are taking necessary steps to de-escalate tensions and promote regional stability.” It further stated, “We hope India also prioritizes regional stability and the well-being of its citizens.” Pakistan also warned that it would respond fully to any future aggression.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued another sharp warning to Pakistan during his address to air force personnel at the Adampur Air Base in Punjab. He cautioned that if Pakistan permits another terrorist attack on Indian soil, it would face complete devastation. “India always desires peace, but if attacked, it is always prepared to decisively defeat the enemy,” Modi declared.
