Dulquer’s 'Kanta' Unveils Samuthirakani’s Powerful First Look

A new periodic drama-thriller titled Kanta, featuring prominent actor Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, is generating strong anticipation among audiences. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film is set against the backdrop of 1950s Madras and aims to portray the cultural and societal transitions of that era.

On the occasion of actor Samuthirakani’s birthday this Saturday, the film’s team released his first look poster, drawing widespread attention. Presented in a striking black-and-white theme, the poster captures Samuthirakani in an intense and solemn expression, wearing spectacles and exuding a commanding screen presence. His appearance and demeanor hint at a powerful and pivotal character in the film’s narrative.

Reflecting the 1950s period setting, Samuthirakani’s costume aligns authentically with the era, reinforcing the film’s commitment to period accuracy. Director Selvamani Selvaraj is aiming to depict the conflict between tradition and modernity through both personal and social narratives embedded in the storyline.

Kanta has already completed its shooting and is currently in the final stages of post-production. Dulquer Salmaan stars opposite lead actress Bhagyashree Borse, whose first look posters were unveiled previously.

The film is being jointly produced by Spirit Media and Dulquer Salmaan’s own production banner, Wayfarer Films. Danny Sanchez Lopez serves as the cinematographer, while Jaanu Chanthar composes the music. Additional details about the film are expected to be announced soon.
